PDP addresses Bandits issues,The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked for the instant removal of the Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi, for avoiding his required obligations by telling unarmed Nigerians to protect themselves against armed kidnappers and criminals.
The PDP describes the statement by the minister as careless, irresponsible, and as enough evidence that the Muhammadu Buhari led administration has no control over criminals and are not willing to fight them.
It is unimaginable that a government would describe unarmed victims of armed attacks by criminals and bandits as cowards while those meant to protect them and given the necessary resources to defend them live in the comfort and security of their offices and homes in Abuja.
Such issues of security; a statutory obligation of government, goes to prove apprehensions that our nation is indeed transcending to a failed and lawless state under the Muhammadu Buhari led administration, where the
government are incapable of carrying out its duties while unarmed citizens are left to decide their fate against armed bandits and criminals.
Due to the silence by the president, our party urges that the defeatist statement made by the minister represents the loopholes of President Muhammadu Buhari administration and its security architecture, and explains why the administration has and will remained complacent in the tackling and addressing the current security issues of the nation.
The party said that such a statement by the Buhari led administration, which is meant to be scaling up its security strategies to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, have been encouraging criminals, terrorists, and kidnappers to increase their operations and atrocities against all citizens.
After all, with such disposition, the Buhari led administration is making the country more conducive for bandits, terrorists, and kidnappers to carry out their operations and are settled with huge ransom instead of being confronted by security officials.
Our party however encourages Nigerians not to lose hope at this moment but get encouraged as it has become clear that we are now in a tight and critical situation where by the government has shown that incapability to defend its citizens.
